Biography
Local artist Anne lives in Cornwall with her husband Jim.
Anne has always had an artistic background which in her early years was focused on dance and theatre having been educated at the Arts Education School at Tring, Hertfordshire.
She says her inspiration and love of painting is derived from her surrounding environment and she was encouraged to further her interest by becoming a student at the Falmouth College of Art where she obtained a BA (Hon) Degree in Fine Art.
Her work which has been sought after and collected since her first professional exhibition captures the ethos of Cornwall portraying it in a dynamic light and depth.
Her intention is to blend realism with a degree of abstract interpretation. She begins with many drawings from her local foreshore or items of flotsam and then allows the paint, other materials and her imagination to take over, building layers of paint to create the essence and atmosphere of the subject.
She has had very successful solo exhibitions and she has shown at the notable Lander Gallery, Truro since its opening show . Recently she has shown both on her own and with distinguished professional groups throughout Cornwall
